The background is layered to create a feeling of the passage of time. Acrylic on Canvas 30” x 24” A boy from the Bukeye region of Burundi, Africa holds a fishing pole while stopped in a moment of contemplation. He lives in a poor area and often goes hungry. The fish at the bottom represent the possibility for him to learn skills to sustain himself and for his community to thrive when provided with resources and opportunities. This painting was done from a photo given to me by the Cries of A Child ministry in Burundi.

This is a reference both to clean drinking water and an emotional and spiritual dryness.
40" x 30" Acrylic on Canvas What do we hold sacred? This young girl and her baby brother live in extreme poverty in India. The arch of cows is a combination of sacred imagery from western and eastern cultures. The needs of these impoverished individuals are overshadowed by the idols of our cultures.	20" x 16" Acrylic on Canvas Portrait of a woman rescued from slavery. Within the blue background are transfers of scripture passages in addition to a hand written list of daily tasks.
