This painting is a visual reminder that we can choose truth and what God says about us rather than the negative thoughts like not being "enough" or feeling unloved.
Choosing Joy
Description
Choosing Joy is about fighting the negative thoughts in our minds and being intentional about choosing the threads of hope, gratitude and joy in our lives. This painting is a visual reminder that we can choose truth and what God says about us rather than the negative thoughts like not being "enough" or feeling unloved. As a former therapist, and current mental health coach, I help others re-write thoughts and plan to choose hope and joy.
The painting is layered with a palette knife to create a sense of time. In the dark part of the painting, there are a few phrases written in pencil that are common beginnings of negative thoughts. Through this chaotic portion of the painting, representing our negative thoughts or circumstances, there are yellow painted ribbons of hope going through that we can choose to hold onto. The portrait is painted with a dry brush technique in a limited color palette to represent coming out of the dark and into color and joy. Sides are painted white and it comes wired and ready to hang. Shipping included.
