We can choose the thoughts we focus on. This abstract painting is about being intentional about choosing the threads of hope, joy and gratitude we find running through our lives when we are stuck in dark thoughts or circumstances. This original painting is a visual reminder that we can choose hope. As a former counselor and current coach, I have seen how we can change negative thought cycles and choose to focus on God's truth and hope in our lives.
Threads of Hope I-Original abstract painting
Description
We can choose the thoughts we focus on. This painting is about being intentional about choosing the threads of hope, joy and gratitude we find running through our lives when we are stuck in dark thoughts or circumstances. As a former counselor and current coach, I have seen how we can change negative thought cycles and choose to focus on God's truth and hope in our lives.
This painting is layered with paint applied by palette knife, washes and brush to give a sense of time. In the dark layers are a few phrases that are common negative thought patterns. The yellow "threads" are woven through and come out of the darkness. A few of those have words written alongside to represent positive thoughts like "something new", "I'm not afraid to.." "I hope.." May this be a visual reminder to choose hope when your thoughts want to keep you in the dark. There is hope.
Sides are painted white and actually 1.5" deep. Wired and ready to hang.
