When the Well Runs Dry
Description
Acrylic Painting on Stretched Canvas
40"W x 30"H x 1.5"D
Based on a photograph a friend took in Mozambique, this painting questions what will happen to this boy and his community when the well runs dry. This is a reference both to clean drinking water and an emotional and spiritual dryness. The limited color palette echoes the limits faced by children who are lacking basic needs like food, clean drinking water and security. Part of my For the Least of These series to draw the viewer into the needs of these children and question their own involvement in providing for or responding to “The Least of These.” This painting is the result of a collaboration with photographer Gary Gnidovic.
This painting comes wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted white and have a depth of 1.5 inches. This item ships in a box.
